Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - October and November 2023

Holiday Paper Pumpkin kits are my favorite and this year's kits were so fun with the house theme.  The October 2023 kit (Home for the Holidays) included enough supplies to make 8 cards, 4 each of 2 designs.  As Christmas cards need to be easy, these cards could be assembled quickly and sent out the door.  Or you could spruce them up even more by cutting up the pieces and making your own creations.  The November kit (Warm Wishes) included supplies to make 8 treat boxes.  There was also an option to purchase an add-on to the kit which included 20 5 x 7 cards with envelopes.

WHAT'S INSIDE?  All Paper Pumpkin kits come with instructions so anyone can create the projects found inside the box.  There is also a video tutorial that Stampin' Up! posts for those that are more visual or auditory learners.  Kits always include an exclusive photopolymer stamp set, an ink spot, adhesive, and all the pieces needed for the project.  First time subscribers also get a clear block that will work with all Paper Pumpkin stamp sets.

WHAT'S THE COST? The cost of the monthly subscription is $24.50 (which includes the shipping) plus your local sales tax.  You have until the 10th of the month to sign up for the kit and it arrives around the 18th of the month.  They are great for all level of crafters, make wonderful gifts after assembled or before, and allow a great opportunity to take some time for yourself.  You can also purchase pre-paid subscriptions to earn things like Sale-a-Bration rewards or for gifting but you will pay shipping & tax on that purchase up front.

ANY PERKS FOR SUBSCRIBING?  There is!  For my subscribers, I do an alternatives idea share via Zoom on the 4th Monday of every month.  That is when I share how I made my projects, talk about coordinating products, sneak peek upcoming promotions for Stampin' Up!, and more.  These idea shares are open to anyone that is interested in learning more or doing more with their kits.  I also offer a tips & tricks sheet with step by step instructions for all my alternatives.  Subscribers are also able to purchase additional kits while supplies last on my Online Store.

Below are the projects that I designed using the Warm Wishes and Home for the Holidays Paper Pumpkin kits.  Check out the Promotions page for more information on upcoming kits and to sign up!

This card was shown to me by my aunt who saw it on "Stamp Your Art Out" by Rachel Tessman. I love being inspired by customers, family, and other demonstrators!  I could not find the card to link to directly but you can visit her blog here: Home - Stamp Your Art Out!  The only change I made was to add the piece I cut off the card to the back to help give it stability and the label looked a little different.

Back to my original designs....

Another interruption - this was designed by Elizabeth Price. This one I could find the direct link to: Seeing Ink Spots: A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Home for the Holidays

Back to my designs again....

I do a LOT of memory keeping in December.  I always use our Memories and More collection to design my scrapbook but I end up with a lot of photos that don't fit.  So I used the Add-On cards and envelopes to create a mini album for mementos.

To complete my projects, I did add some additional supplies that weren't part of the Paper Pumpkin kits.

  • Ink: Night of Navy, Memento Black
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake
  • Blends: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, and Daffodil Delight
  • Tools & More: Scissors, Dimensionals, Needle (for book binding with Linen Thread), Stylish Shapes Dies, Cut & Emboss Machine, Wink of Stella, Lemon Lolly Ribbon
I hope you enjoyed these samples.  Please consider subscribing for the January 2024 kit so you can join me on this creative adventure into 2024.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - September 2023

With Love and Gratitude was the perfect Paper Pumpkin kit to open this last weekend and explore.  The kit itself came with supplies to make 8 notecards and linen bags.

While usually September is a Halloween kit, I liked having a fall kit instead.  You could use the bags and notecards for place settings for Thanksgiving, teacher or co-worker appreciation notes, or anything fall that comes your way.  In fact, we had a wedding this weekend and I was able to put this great kit to perfect use for the happy couple.

Paper Pumpkin is a kit in the mail subscription that includes a project with cut pieces, instructions, an exclusive photopolymer stamp set, ink spot, adhesives, and first-time subscribers also get a clear block.  You can review the program and sign-up HERE.

As a perk for my subscribers, I put together a list of tips and tricks and alternatives, along with step by step instructions, for all the projects I create each month.  To this kit, I did add some additional cardstock (Copper Clay, Basic White, Pebbled Path, Crumb Cake, and Lost Lagoon).  I also leveraged by Stylish Shapes Dies, Deckled Rectangle Dies, and some 23-25 In Color Dots.   Below are my alternatives - I hope you enjoy and find some inspiration.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - August 2023

Meaningful Flowers is our August 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit.  It arrived with supplies to make 8 cards, 4 each of 2 designs, plus two stamp sets, a Pretty Peacock ink spot, and some versatile embellishments.  To see the unboxing of this kit from Stampin' Up!, click the video below.

As always, I came up with some of my own alternatives for this kit.  I cut up the envelopes and use the stamps in different ways.  Basically I played with what was sent to us and what I'd bought before.  Subscribers with me will receive a tips and tricks sheet including step by step instructions of all the projects below.

This side flap turned into gift card holder is one I've done before but I was inspired this week by fellow demonstrator Erica Cerwin who did an awesome science card using this same fold on her Facebook Live!

This card was inspired by a sample I saw from Laura Seki on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club page on Facebook.  I have never made one of these but I tried to replicate her awesome creation as best as I could.

You have until the 10th of the month to sign up for Paper Pumpkin.  If you are looking for something fun for the fall, look no further than our upcoming kit, With Love & Gratitude.  See more about this kit and how to sign up on my PROMOTIONS page!

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - July 2023

I don't know about you all, but I feel like July just flew by.  I don't remember what we did, but I do remember it was too hot to do anything so.....

One thing I do remember is that I got a great Paper Pumpkin kit in July and made some awesome alternative projects with it.  And since my refills for this kit arrived today, I will also be making more of the cards I liked the most.

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly kit that contains everything you need for a fun and creative experience.  It comes with a project, instruction, pre-cut parts, adhesive, ink spot, and exclusive photopolymer stamp set.  First time subscribers also get a free block in their kit.  You have until the 10th of the month to sign up to get the kit and then you see the sneak peak for the next month.

The July 2023 kit was called Fun in the Sun.  It contained supplies for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, and they had a fun fancy fold to them.

For my subscribers, I like to experiment with the kit pieces and make alternative projects.  My subscribers get a Tips and Tricks sheet with step by step instructions for these projects, all the dimensions, and a virtual workshop to see how they are made.  If you are interested in signing up for a future kit, please do so HERE.

The following supplies were added to the kit supplies to make these projects.

  • Cardstock: White, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo
  • Ink: Memento Black, Azure Afternoon, Crumb Cake
  • Tools & More: Black Write Maker,

On with the samples.....
