Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - June 2022 - Pick of the Crop

June has flown by and there were many great family moments for our crew. So I'm just getting my alternatives out but they were sure fun to make.

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit, Pick of the Crop, included supplies to make 9 cards, 3 each of these designs.  The stamp set also has a lot of versatile sayings that go with past fruit and vegetable papers.

The kit also included a Calypso Coral ink spot and first time subscribers received a clear size D block like always.

Here are my alternatives.  I used a few extra supplies for my creations and also cut up envelopes and one of the cardfronts.

  • Lots of Pun stamp set (December 2021 Paper Pumpkin)
  • Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Soft Succulent, Cajun Craze, Basic White
  • Inks: Blackberry Bliss, Memento Black, Night of Navy
  • Tools: Blending Brush, Adhesive, Scissors

All of my subscribers get a PDF with step by step instructions on how to make these projects as well as a virtual session to go through them and answer questions.

Layout of the Month - May 2022

Last night was my Mystery Monday and introduction of the May Layout of the Month.  Let's get to it!

This month's theme was "Bundle Up for Summer" since I wanted to use a bundle that reminded me of summer but I'm also getting really tired of the APRIL AND MAY SNOW that is happening in Idaho.

Supplies to Gather:

Stamps:

  • Stamp set & either Punch or Die that coordinate with the image (not the sentiment).

Cardstock:

  • Card base (any color): 8 ½ x 5 ½ - scored at 4 ¼
  • White or Vanilla cardstock: 2 ¾ x 4
  • White or Vanilla cardstock: scrap for stamping and punching based on stamp set
  • Coordinating cardstock: scrap for stamping and punching based on stamp set
  • DSP: two pieces (same or different patterns) – 3 x 2

Inks:

  • 2 colors to coordinate with your chosen stamp set and DSP

Accessories:

  • Punch or Cut & Emboss with Dies
  • Dimensionals
  • Adhesive of Choice
  • Embellishment of Choice

Instructions:

  1. Stamp on your coordinating cardstock and punch/die cut image(s)
  2. Stamp on your white/vanilla scrap & punch/die cut your image(s).
  3. Stamp an image on your 2 ¾ x 4 piece of White or Vanilla.
  4. Attach two pieces of DSP to the card base with adhesive.
  5. Add the stamped white panel to the card using adhesive.
  6. Add your punched image with dimensionals
  7. Add your embellishments if desired.
  8. Stamp sentiment on the inside.

Here are the samples that I designed off these measurements and instructions.

These cards use the following BRAND NEW PRODUCTS from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

Adhesive of Choice

My customers also followed along to make their cards and ended up with these fun bundle cards.  Please know that Mystery Monday has you raiding your own stash so these products are not all Stampin' Up! or currently available for purchase.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - April 2022 - Change is Beautiful

April has sure brought a lot of changes!  Between sunshine and snow, sickness and health, and beginnings and ends, this month has had it all!  This month also saw the Trail Wind Art Night which is a culmination of a lot of hours of volunteer work by myself and other awesome parents!  Look at all that incredible artwork!

With this huge event over, I was able to sit down with my Paper Pumpkin kit (and possible a delicious beverage) and play this weekend.  This month's Paper Pumpkin kit came with enough supplies to make 9 cards (3 each of 3 designs) plus a Melon Mambo ink spot, exclusive photopolymer stamp set, instructions, and adhesives.

These are two of the three cards that were in the kit with the only modification being the outlining of the dies with black markers.  You could use our Stampin' Write marker but if you may have left it uncapped like I did while making dinner, you can also use a black sharpie or other black pen.

When you outline the dies, you get a completely different look on those pieces!

After doing the originals, I cut up one of each of the envelopes like I always do to use for background pieces.  Finally, I cut up one of each card base.  Below are my alternatives for the month.

Paper Pumpkin kits include everything you need to create the included projects.  Alternatives are just my way of utilizing coordinating products from my supplies that I may have ignored.  Melon Mambo is not my favorite color but I made a point of pulling that color of cardstock out, as well as a few other colors.  I used these additional supplies while creating my samples above.
  • Cut & Emboss Supplies: Cut & Emboss Machine, Magnetic Plate, Stitched Rectangle Dies
  • Other Tools: Blending Brush, Aqua Painters, Black Stampin' Write
  • Embossing Supplies (Heat Gun, Embossing Buddy, White Embossing Powder)
  • Inks: Stazon ink & Pumpkin Pie ink
  • Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper, Basic White, Bermuda Bay
Subscribers get the kit from Stampin' Up! but they get the step by step to my alternatives from me and a virtual workshop on the 4th Monday of each month to go through them and answer any questions.  You have until the 10th of the month to sign up for the next kit and it's full of all the new In Colors!

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - March 2022 - Beyond the Horizon

While we had a delay, I finally received the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Beyond the Horizon and it was worth waiting for.  The cards are beautifully printed and the embellishments versatile.

Paper Pumpkin is a kit in the mail that includes everything you need to make the included project.  In this case, the kit had supplies to make 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs.

Now there are several different ways you can use the pieces in the kit to make even more cards or layouts.  I always cut up the envelopes for patterned pieces, the card fronts, and modify the embellishments and die cuts.  For some of these samples, I added in Misty Moonlight & Basic White cardstock, Stitched Rectangle Dies, and a Blending Brush.  Everything else was included.

If you subscribe with me, you will receive a tip sheet with step by step instructions for all these projects.  Sign up below to find the next kit right in your mailbox!
