Paper Pumpkin Alternative - May 2023

When the Exploring In Color May 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit arrived, I was blown away by the artistry on the box and the cards within.  Even the add-on cards and envelopes had a beautiful scenery to them.  I instantly thought of a great trip we took as a family last summer to Swan Valley, ID with a side trip to Jenny Lake and the Grand Tetons.  The imagery in this kit screamed scrapbook to me.

But it was also the last month of school and my craft room was buried under school projects and art supplies and the constant full back packs of stuff arriving back home.  Apparently, my kids have clown car desks and lockers.  Regardless, the point is that I didn't have time to print photos and play with full size scrapbooks but I did feel like these might make a great mini book.

Now the original kit includes all the supplies needed for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, to help celebrate adventures, birthdays, and friendship.  It would be perfect for graduation cards, especially for Idaho graduates, and for retirements.  It would also work for summer adventures and cards for sleepaway camp in the great outdoors.  The kit came with a Copper Clay ink spot, exclusive photopolymer stamp set, instructions, adhesive, and the kit pieces and envelopes.  It also had an added bonus of a few outdoor themed stickers perfect for the waterbottle you take on your adventures.

So the original three cards and the assembly can be seen below.

While I will post my cards shortly, here are the photos for my book.  It did require the extra supplies of Tear & Tape, awl (for punching holes), needle (for sewing the spine), and scissors.  The awl and needle came from a bookbinding kit on Amazon and the rest is sold by Stampin' Up!  Everything else I used was in the kit.

Subscribers with me receive a tip and tricks sheet for each kit, as well as instructions to make all of my alternatives.  If you would like to try out Paper Pumpkin for yourself, you can sign up HERE or you can find out more about next month's kit on my Promotions Page.

Welcome New Catalog and In Colors

It's catalog launch day and there are so many wonderful new colors, products, and samples in store for you all!  Speaking of store, you can check all of these products out online at my ONLINE STORE.  The hostess code for the month can be found in the side navigation on the right, as well as a link to the online catalog!

To help share the excitement of the new In Colors, I wanted to share a set of samples created using supplies I was able to purchase as a demonstrator during product pre-order.  It's a definite perk of being a demonstrator (especially with new catalogs and long wish lists!)

These samples were made using the Fresh as a Daisy DSP which includes a sheet with several individually designed rectangles.  I paired it with a half sheet of each new In Color and used the Timeless Arrangements bundle for the sentiments and focal points.  It doesn't get easier than this!
