Meaningful Flowers is our August 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit. It arrived with supplies to make 8 cards, 4 each of 2 designs, plus two stamp sets, a Pretty Peacock ink spot, and some versatile embellishments. To see the unboxing of this kit from Stampin' Up!, click the video below.
As always, I came up with some of my own alternatives for this kit. I cut up the envelopes and use the stamps in different ways. Basically I played with what was sent to us and what I'd bought before. Subscribers with me will receive a tips and tricks sheet including step by step instructions of all the projects below.
This side flap turned into gift card holder is one I've done before but I was inspired this week by fellow demonstrator Erica Cerwin who did an awesome science card using this same fold on her Facebook Live!
This card was inspired by a sample I saw from Laura Seki on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club page on Facebook. I have never made one of these but I tried to replicate her awesome creation as best as I could.
You have until the 10th of the month to sign up for Paper Pumpkin. If you are looking for something fun for the fall, look no further than our upcoming kit, With Love & Gratitude. See more about this kit and how to sign up on my PROMOTIONS page!
I don't know about you all, but I feel like July just flew by. I don't remember what we did, but I do remember it was too hot to do anything so.....
One thing I do remember is that I got a great Paper Pumpkin kit in July and made some awesome alternative projects with it. And since my refills for this kit arrived today, I will also be making more of the cards I liked the most.

The June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit, Welcome Inn, was great on it's own. It allowed subscribers to make 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, that celebrated hospitality and inclusion at events and celebrations!
I loved these cards and how they coordinated with the Countryside Inn Suite in the catalog.
For my subscribers, I came up with the following alternatives using parts of the kit and a few additional supplies (Calypso Coral Ink, Happy Labels Stamp Set, Blending Brush, and White Baker's Twine. Subscribers with me get a tips and trick sheet with instructions for all these projects. Sign up by the 10th of the month to get the current (and any past tip sheets).
When the Exploring In Color May 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit arrived, I was blown away by the artistry on the box and the cards within. Even the add-on cards and envelopes had a beautiful scenery to them. I instantly thought of a great trip we took as a family last summer to Swan Valley, ID with a side trip to Jenny Lake and the Grand Tetons. The imagery in this kit screamed scrapbook to me.
But it was also the last month of school and my craft room was buried under school projects and art supplies and the constant full back packs of stuff arriving back home. Apparently, my kids have clown car desks and lockers. Regardless, the point is that I didn't have time to print photos and play with full size scrapbooks but I did feel like these might make a great mini book.
Now the original kit includes all the supplies needed for 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs, to help celebrate adventures, birthdays, and friendship. It would be perfect for graduation cards, especially for Idaho graduates, and for retirements. It would also work for summer adventures and cards for sleepaway camp in the great outdoors. The kit came with a Copper Clay ink spot, exclusive photopolymer stamp set, instructions, adhesive, and the kit pieces and envelopes. It also had an added bonus of a few outdoor themed stickers perfect for the waterbottle you take on your adventures.
So the original three cards and the assembly can be seen below.
While I will post my cards shortly, here are the photos for my book. It did require the extra supplies of Tear & Tape, awl (for punching holes), needle (for sewing the spine), and scissors. The awl and needle came from a bookbinding kit on Amazon and the rest is sold by Stampin' Up! Everything else I used was in the kit.
Subscribers with me receive a tip and tricks sheet for each kit, as well as instructions to make all of my alternatives. If you would like to try out Paper Pumpkin for yourself, you can sign up HERE or you can find out more about next month's kit on my Promotions Page.
