Introducing Grapefruit Grove

This weekend I'm introducing my stamp campers to the new 2018-2020 In Colors.  I'm so giddy as a camp hasn't come together this easily for me in a LONG time!  The five colors are beautiful - working well together in a spectrum of rainbow bright colors but also on their own.

Today's card is the first in the In Color series I'll be teaching and it features Grapefruit Grove.  Now, being allergic to citrus, the irony of this being my favorite color is not lost on me.  I love that it stamps as a dark peach but then lightens up to a beautiful orange hue.  It's going to work with the subtles, brights, and regals quite well.

The base of the card is an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Whisper White.   Cut a 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 piece of Whisper White and layer a 3 1/2 x 1/2 piece of striped Nature's Poem DSP at the bottom.  Then layer three 3 1/2 x 1 pieces of DSP on top of that.

I wanted to use Twine on this card but it wouldn't tie quite flat enough for me.  So I cut a 12" piece of both Grapefruit Grove and Blackberry Bliss twine from the Nature's Twine set and separated them so I had three pieces of each color.  Wrap and tie in a knot trim the ends.  Add the decorated piece to the front of the card using dimensionals.

Next I stamped the Thank You from Stitched All Around and cut it out using the Stitched Label Framelits.  This combo is FANTASTIC and will rival my use of the Stitched Shapes all year long.  I love the decorative detail around the outside of this framelit.  It's layered with dimensionals.
