January Paper Pumpkin Subscriber - Thank You Card

Today's post is my thank you note that went out to my January Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  I wanted to use the opportunity to both thank them for supporting the program and my business but also to show how well the products in the kits coordinate with our other product lines.  Because the stamp set was lovey dovey, I paired it up with more Sending Love products.

I always encourage my Paper Pumpkin subscribers to have a package of these Notecards and Envelopes on hand.  Regardless of what is in the Paper Pumpkin kit, you can make cards out of the pieces if you have card bases and envelopes ready.  For $6, you can get 20 Notecards and Envelopes and they are a perfectly mailable size!

For this notecard, I mounted a 4 3/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Real Red on the front of the notecard.  This actually happened because I stamped my copyright stamp on them first and did the wrong side so I had to cover that up.  :)  Oops!  But I liked it better on the red anyhow.

The rest of the card is a 3 x 1 piece of Sending Love DSP with one of our lace doilies cut in half behind it.  I cut apart one of the goody bags and used the 1/2 strip on the DSP to bring the gold in.  The cord is behind the saying which was punched using the Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I finished it off with a few gold sequins left over from past pumpkin kits.  This layout would work great regardless of the saying but the Adoring Arrows stamp set is perfectly sized for these types of cards.

Adorable Goodie Bags

It's almost the 10th of the month which means if you are going to order Paper Pumpkin, now is the time!  Last month, we received a kit with 24 bags you could make.  While some people aren't 3D folks, I love a cute little package.  You can make a cute little bag and put a 25 cent chocolate in it and you still steal a person's heart!  I could not use these for my daughter's classroom since they cannot do candy this year but I can use them for my customers!

For this project, I wanted to tackle how to shut the bags.  The original sample has an adorable arrow (thus the Adoring Arrows name for the kit) but they keep the bag from closing.  So I found that if you wrapped a 5 x 3/4 piece of cardstock around the top and sealed with Tear and Tape, you get a much better closure.  I added a heart punched out from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a little 1" circle in Whisper White as well.  I did change out the ink to Blushing Bride from my stash of inks because I wanted as soft of a look as I could get!  All other pieces, including the stamp set and thread, are from the January Paper Pumpkin kit.

For those that sometimes waiver on Paper Pumpkin, I understand your dilemma.  When I look at the kits from the last 14 months, I love something about each one.  I haven't seen a stamp set that I haven't fallen for out of these kits.  The January kit had stamps for thank you, dear friends, adoring you, love, and to/from, plus the hearts.  Don't get locked into the sample from the kit - I'm here to offer you more ideas and the stamp sets can be used with anything you have!!!  The February kit will be cards.  I don't know whether you will like the sample or not but in a kit with card pieces, I promise something you can use!  Plus, you will get a card from me using the stamp set and a new layout for you to try in the mail!  Come back tomorrow to see the thank you note that went out to my January subscribers!

January Paper Pumpkin Ideas

Today is the second day of Paper Pumpkin catchup.  While I really do try to do the kits within 24 hours of getting them, the holidays threw me for a little creative loop and I was too busy playing with all my great pre-order goodies!

THE KIT

 

This kit comes with 4 cards that are Crumb Cake/Kraft on the outside and Coastal Cabana/Calypso Coral on the inside, envelopes, 4 paper doilies, 2 sheets of paper stickers, a Basic Gray Stampin' Spot, and a Love Notes stamp set with 3 images - LOVE, a heart bubble, and a series of arrows.



PROJECT 1

 

This first project is actually my favorite.  The doily is attached to the side and trimmed.  I stamped the tag with Love and layered the banners on the card before attaching this.  I recommend using glue dots to hold these paper stickers to the cards - they tend to pull up when layered on each other.

PROJECT 2

 

This card is technically inside out since the samples all have the Kraft side facing out.  But just like when you use My Digital Studio, if you have two sides to a card, you have two sides to create on!  In this case, I put the doily on the side and stamped it directly.  Then attached the banner and arrows as shown. 

PROJECT 3

 

This is my least favorite card and the one I created first.  I think I got caught on the color combo and didn't craft my way out of my dilemma very well.  I think it's pretty busy, like my mind these days!  :)

 

I added a piece of the Basic Gray cardstock to the doily and also to the heart bubble since Callie crawled in my lap right as I stamped it and it was crooked!  The inside of this card is Calypso Coral and would show through the chevrons on the right if the card was closed.

PROJECT 4

I always like to try either a mini book or fun fold with these kits.  In this case, I went for a fold.

I folded the Calypso Coral piece in half at 2 1/8 using my Paper Trimmer to score the line and a bone folder to really give a sharp edge.  I layered the arrow sticker over the chevrons and attached with a glue dot on each end so it wouldn't come off.  Then the Kraft shows through it when the card is shut.  I cut the heart out of the hexagon and cut the "You're" off the "You're Loved" sticker since the printer cut most of it off for me!  The doily is hooked to the back of the diagonal striped side.

The inside has the doily attached to the hexagon side and has another statement and heart cut from a hexagon.  On the inside, I left the label blank so it could be signed and then stamped the images as shown.

I think this would be a cute card to put a photo on the doily and a sweet message for my sweetheart on the inside.  God knows he likes receiving cards from me after seeing all the money I spend on my "hobby."
