Celebrating Creativity - Day 16

My final butterfly swap is for a Treat Swap I'm in at Convention.  I wanted to leverage the Tag a Bag boxes because I think they are an excellent size for gift giving.

I used white Stazon to stamp on the window sheet included with the boxes.  I layered a butterfly stamped in Blushing Bride with a butterfly cut out from the Gold Vellum.  Then I did a Blushing Butterfly thinlit on the top.  But it was missing two things - a body and antennae.

 

The body of the butterfly is half of a clothespin.  I took off the metal fixture and then inked with White Stazon.  Once added to the body using glue dots, I added a piece of Gold Metallic Thread to the back and it gave it the perfect amount of whimsy.

Celebrating Creativity - Day 15

It's Amazon Prime day but I wanted to take a few minutes away from my spree shopping to share another great Convention swap.  This card features two more of of my favorite products - English Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and White Accents.  This DSP is so versatile for almost any occasion and pairs beautifully with the Watercolor Wings bundle.  The Bold Butterfly Framelit coordinates with the smallest butterfly in the Butterflies Thinlit Dies so I put a solid Hello Honey butterfly behind the White die cut to keep the DSP from showing through the wings.  I hope you enjoy it!

Celebrating Creativity - Day 14

Still posting Convention swaps - I guess I did more than I thought which is great.  Convention is so much fun for so many reasons.

1. It's girl trip - my mom and sister are demonstrators so we get to have this awesome experience together.
2. The excitement of thousands of demonstrators is beyond your imagination.  It's energizing and inspiring.
3. You get to attend a lot of useful classes that help make me a more effective demonstrator.
4. You get to see MORE SAMPLES than you ever dreamed of - both of existing product and brand spanking new holiday product.  Those demos are my favorite - the talent of SU's presenters is incredible.
5. It's just fun - from awards night to social events to swapping, you leave ready to Share, Inspire, and Create!

These next three swaps are all butterfly themed.  I wanted to do something that I could teach my customers, especially since so many of them purchased the Butterfly Basics bundle and the Watercolor Wings bundle.

For this card, I used the Watercolor Wings bundle, as well as the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  I wanted it to look like sky so I used Soft Sky.  I wanted to use So Saffron for the saying so I punched out a 2" circle from a post it and adhered it on the Whisper White.  Then I inked up my background stamp and stamped.  This left me a "sun" to put my beautiful So Saffron saying inside.

For the butterfly, I stamped off the So Saffron for the base and then used a second of the stamps for the darker yellow.  It is punched out using the Bold Butterfly Framelits (which pair perfectly with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies) and has a few strands of Silver Metallic thread behind it.  The base of the butterfly are metal rimmed pearls - aren't those AMAZING?  One of my favorite new catalog products!
