Countdown to Christmas - Days 22 & 23

Well, I almost made it but I still broke my personal record for days posted in a row over Christmas.  Sorry I forgot to post Day 22 so today you get a two-fer!

Yesterday was family baking day.  Callie and I made covered pretzels while Michael licked sprinkles from his plate.  Don't worry - none of his pretzels made it out the door to neighbors and friends.  I put our pretzels in a cool little gusseted bag and then tied one of these tags around it using our Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine.  It made for a cute pop of holiday!

To make these tags, just run a 5 1/2 x 2 3/4 piece of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot using your magnetic platform.  Next stamp the scrumptious stamp from Here's to Cheers stamp set using Early Espresso.  Then you can run two scraps of Real Red through the Big Shot using the precision plate to get the filigree piece and the curvy line on the front of the tag.  Both are adhered using a fine tip glue pen.  Tie it off using a piece of twine long enough to tie around the bag!

Supplies:
  • Cardstock/DSP: Very Vanilla (5 1/2 x 2 3/4), Real Red (scrap)
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Stamp Set: Here's to Cheers
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Precision Plate, Cutting Mats, Cheerful Tags Thinlits, Basic Rhinestones, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine
Today's other project is an adorable Santa card.  To make this card, you will use the Detailed Santa Thinlits.  I ran the Santa through my Big Shot using the precision plate - that way I could make sure each swirl cut all the way through!  Then I ran it through the Big Shot using the magnetic platform and the slanted line thinlit (to make sure it stayed straight and in place.)  Add Tear and Tape to the back of the Santa, just above the slanted lines.  Then attach a strip of Red Glimmer Paper so it shows through the holes.  Tie a piece of Red Twine around the bottom and attach to the folded Real Red card using adhesive or the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Stamp the saying from Stitched with Cheer or whatever stamp set you have for the holidays using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Adorable, right?

Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Whisper White (2 @ 5 1/4 x 4), Real Red (8 1/2 x 5 1/2), Red Glimmer Paper (4 x 1/2)
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Stamps: Stitched with Cheer
  • Accessories: Detailed Santa Framelits, Big Shot, Cutting Mats and Magnetic Platform, Candy Cane Baker's Twine - 17", Adhesive, Scissors, Big Shot Brush

Countdown to Christmas - Day 7

Today I'm going to try and be super productive because my box of new Stampin' Up! supplies has arrived and all I want to do is play.  But before I start wrapping all my presents, I have to finish making tags for them.  My husband does not understand the process of making tags - why work so hard on something we throw away each year when you can buy the cheap metallic sticker tags at the grocery store.

Well, first off, I don't sell the supplies to make those.  Second, the writing doesn't smear on mine.  Third, I get that same feeling of joy when someone reads their name on a homemade tag as when I open a homemade card.  And fourth, and most importantly, because if I'm shopping for his family and mine, I can do whatever I want!  :)

These little tags are quick and easy.  Start with a 2 x 3 piece of cardstock and either cut and punch the top or use one of our retired tag punches.  Thread a small piece of string through.  Then take a 2 x 2 piece of cardstock and adhere.  This helps you use up your scraps of DSP left over or lets you make 9 from each 6 x 6 sheet.  Then add a 1" strip of cardstock on top with adhesive that you stamp using a To/From from any stamp set.  My go to this Christmas is from Tin of Tags because the lettering is perfectly sized for a 1" strip!  If you want to embellish, add some trinkets or stamp and cut out trees from the Stitched with Cheer stamp set!

    Supplies:
    • Cardstock: Whisper White (3 x 2, 2 x 1), Warmth and Cheer DSP (2 x 2)
    • Ink: Archival Black
    • Stamp Set: Tin of Tags, Stitched with Cheer
    • Accessories: Linen Thread, Tag Topper Punch, Dimensionals, Scissors, and Adhesive

A Week in a Day - Simply Snowflake

It's been a while since I posted but not since I crafted!  Instead of taking a week to catch up on Paper Pumpkin, I am going for all my ideas in one post!  :)  Some were intentional ideas and several were results of accidental excellence - like dropping the stamp or inking it poorly!

The standard projects with this awesome kit were a fold out card and a Happy Holiday tag.  I cut my family photo slightly and attached it to the inside.  I have mine sitting up on my mantle for my own holiday keepsake.

When stamping the tag, make sure you place that To/From up far enough that it doesn't show through the window.

If you stamp too low, you can always make this card.  I speak from experience...  Just add a snowflake over the hole with some of the rhinestones and a little of the beautiful washi tape on the side.

Then use the front of the tag on a Notecard.  Just cut off the end of the tag and use on the top to make a little file folder looking element.  I added some rhinestones to the letters and the baker's twine to the top in a pretty little bow.

Now, since I was on the notecard kick, I decided to play a bit with the stencils that were left over when you punched out the snowflakes.  With a slight bit of trimming, they fit beautifully on our Notecards and Envelopes.

I added a little banner to the center of the card and should have put rhinestones in the center of each snowflake but I just realized that as I was typing.

This one was a result of playing with all the embellishments in the kit.

I also used the stencil on a small canvas and used white paint and a sponge to go over the top.  It turned out great until I covered it with Modge Podge and it smeared.  There is potential there for those that want to try.

There were more happy accidents.  I dropped the Happy Holidays stamp on the front of one of my cards.  So, I tried to stamp all over it and that looked worse.  So I cut off the snowflake from the front of the card and sponged it.  I then cut it up and adhered it to the inside of the card.  On the front I just used the White Snowflake die pieces with a small snowflake to hold it shut on the front.

I loved this kit.  It came with a six piece stamp set, 8 cards, 12 tags, a Lost Lagoon Stampin' Spot, a roll of silver washi tape, rhinestones, and baker's twine.  For only $19.95 plus tax.   Remember that you can buy extras of this kit if you are a member!  http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=136919&dwbs=80380

      YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!

To sign up for Paper Pumpkin, visit https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en/?demoid=80380 before midnight on January 10th!

Perks for signing up under me:
      1. I have committed to having additional samples created using the kit by the first week of the month.  That way those that are cardmakers have options just like those that scrapbook or like decor.
      2. I will post frequent updates to the Pinterest board I have dedicated to Paper Pumpkin projects - again providing you inspiration to use with your kit if you need something different from the instructions included!
      3. I will host a Paper Pumpkin party that is free for the recipients of Paper Pumpkin with me.  Those crafting friends can come for free and enjoy good company and a pumpkin snack while putting together your kits.  These events will usually be the first Wednesday of the month!  There will also be a door prize given each month to the attendees and if you want to make any of the samples I show using the kit (that doesn't require hardware like frames), I will provide that for attendees as well.
Take care and I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday and are heading towards an awesome new year!

Pretty Print Winter Frost Holiday Bundle

Today's bundle is another offering from my holiday camp.

The card in this bundle uses the new card thinlits, Winter Frost DSP, mini silver brads, Bracket Punch, and the stamp sets Tags 4 You and Christmas Messages stamp sets.

This card is one of my Stamp-a-stack options at 10 for $20.  The inside of the flip card is shown below.  This is a great product line and I'm excited to get it in front of everyone to play with!

The gift card holder is based on a tutorial offered by Dawn Griffith. Dawn is one of the demonstrators I've followed online for a few years, ever since I met her in person at a Stampin' Addicts event.  She's amazing and very funny!  This holder utilizes our envelopes in a fun new way.  I love the Pretty Print embossing folder because it adds an element of elegance to a project in a quick way.  You can see how I used it on the front of the holder in the bundle picture above.

The tag uses components from the card thinlits, embossing folder, Tags 4 You, and Bracket punch.  These are super quick and super cute so I'm excited to make a bunch of them for my Christmas gifts.

Last day to RSVP for my holiday camp is today, September 25th so contact me today if you are interested in a stamp-a-stack or a camp entry.  The cost is $20 for 5 cards, 5 tags, the gift card, the gift box, the journal, the exploding scrapbook box, and the washi clothespin.

Today's bundle is another offering from my holiday camp.  This bundle features the Gorgeous Grunge and Many Merry Messages stamp sets and the Season of Style DSP Paper Pack.

The card in this bundle is directly inspired by this great creation by Debra Currier, a fantastic designer with a blog I follow. I thought it would look great as a Christmas card and it inspired these other projects using the same stamp sets and papers.

The gift box is very versatile and makes for a quick way to give a holiday gift.

The tag uses the stripe from the Gorgeous Grunge set.

Last day to RSVP for my holiday camp is September 25th so contact me today if you are interested in a stamp-a-stack or a camp entry. The camp fee is $20.

      Sessions are:
