CASing Erica Cerwin - Flight of Fancy Fold

To close out my week's worth of posts using the Lift Me Up Bundle and Carried Away Designer Series Paper (only available through Sale-a-Bration), I am posting a card designed by Erica Cerwin.  Recently I took a Facebook class from her and this was the final virtual make-n-take she showed us. I was looking for a bright and happy card for a friend that had been helping me out a lot and this card was perfect.

I made a few changes by using my Stitched Shapes on the card but the rest of it is pretty true to her sample.  What a fun and great card and a very versatile fancy fold for special occasions.

Get Carried Away

Today's card is one I showed during my online workshop last week.  I love how bright pieces of the Carried Away Designer Series Paper are and I really like how the balloon die works with Designer Paper.  Because it's thinner than cardstock, the little pieces practically fly out of it when you finish using it on the Big Shot.

I also like that you can use cardstock you don't like as much with these types of dies and it breaks up the pattern.  I like this DSP but have tried this same card with others I'm not so keen on and loved the results!

Watercolor Hot Air Balloons

So we all pin more than we create but sometimes you come across a pin on Pinterest that makes you stop what you are doing and try it.  That is what happened when I came across this card by Emma Goddard.  Check out her blog entry HERE.

I had a lot of scraps left around after my online party so I loved that I could use the leftovers to make something new.  So this card is like next day soup.  :)

My version is done just on a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Whisper White.  I used the stencil left over after I cut out my balloon parts using the Up and Away Thinlits.  Using my Watercolor Pencils, I traced each layer and then lightly colored in the center.  Then I used a blender pen to shade them in.  The saying is stamped on a 1" strip of Whisper White and layered on the card using dimensionals after creating a banner end using the Triple Banner Punch.  Such a fun card and can't wait to try it on Watercolor Paper too!

Quick and Easy Hot Air Balloon Card

Good morning everyone!  I'm trying hard to stick to my resolution of sending gratitude out into the world again this year but with every inch of ice or snow we experience, I find myself less and less able to feel thankful for it.  Today my oldest at least got to go to school and I am using the time before my little man wakes up to get some much delayed birthday and get well cards out in the mail!  Even if the mailman can't reach my mailbox!

Today's sample is a quick and easy one.  It only takes a few cuts, one color of ink, and a few minutes to stamp and assemble.  I use this layout often.  I love the Carried Away Designer Series Paper being offered through Sale-a-Bration.  I love that it is designed to coordinate with the Lift Me Up Bundle and that you can earn it for free when you buy that wood mount bundle or when you buy the clearmount with a little something else!  See, even typing about the things I love helps me forget what I hate is happening outside.....

For this layout, you start with a 3 x 4 piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper) and you layer that on the 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of cardstock.  Stamp the saying on Whisper White and mount on another piece of cardstock.  Attach both to the card using adhesive.  Then you are off to the races and after you make your balloon and cut it out using the Up and Away Thinlit Dies, you mount using dimensionals and you are done.  Such a great way to use those little scraps of cardstock that you always have left around your desk (or is that just me????)
