May 2014 - My Guys and My Paper Pumpkin

When last month's kit showed up with a Mother's Day theme, I was certainly hoping that May would bring a Father's Day or masculine themed kit to my door.  I really struggle to know what kind of embellishments to put on male cards and I always seem to rush to get my dad's card done each year.

The kit itself included 5 photopolymer stamps, including a Happy Birthday stamp that will be very versatile to use on other cards and projects!  The ink spot was Marina Mist and the box contained supplies to make 4 full cards and 2 love notes, all with envelopes.

I did my Father's Day cards just like the instructions (which, by the way, are now step by step and include a photo which is helpful!)  I did two of them for my dad and my husband, just in case Callie doesn't ever finish the card she's been "working" on for a week!

The third card was a Happy Birthday card.  I put the blue banner sideways and cut it off.  I also put the dimensionals on the back of the Very Vanilla banner instead of the brown banners.

For the final standard card, I cut down both the banners and wrapped the twine around it.  Then I put the candy dots on the outside of the banner instead of on it.

For the love notes, I used the scraps  from the banners I cut down and also cut the banners I stamped a little different than the sample pictures in the kit.

Remember that you can now subscribe for Paper Pumpkin and have it count towards your home party or you can subscribe now for the month and receive the kit of the month instead of a starter kit.

Take care,
Stacy
