Paper Pumpkin Samples - Giftable Greetings

Another month and another great Paper Pumpkin kit full of possibilities!  I enjoy that this month's kit came with cards and a giftable box so that it was all ready to complete and gift to a special person in your life.

The kit included supplies for 8 cards with envelopes, 6 tags, plus the box itself and the ribbons for it.  It also included a great stamp set and a Night of Navy ink spot.

Subscribers with me get additional kit ideas with step by step instructions and there were a lot of them with this kit.  The only additional supplies I added to some of the projects were Basic Pearls, Crumb Cake cardstock, Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach markers, and White Notecards and Envelopes.  They will also be getting a special unique card in the mail that isn't posted here!

Here are closer images of my projects!  I hope you enjoy!

A Week of Pieces and Patterns

This week I'm featuring several projects made using the Bits and Pieces suite.  I'd love to be showing holiday projects already but honestly, between vacation and getting ready for school to start, I haven't gotten to play with my preorder yet.  But you can bet I'll have some great samples to show you by the time you can order from that catalog!  In the meantime, I thought I'd show some bits and pieces, kind of symbolic for our lives right now!

This first card is a very versatile layout that would have looked even better if I hadn't misplaced the second square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits!  I love this layout and cannot remember where I saw it so my apologies to whomever isn't getting credit for the it!

Supplies:
  • Cardstock/DSP: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pick a Pattern DSP
  • Ink: Archival Black
  • Stamp Set: Pieces and Patterns
  • Big Shot: Big Shot, Cutting Mats and Platforms, Stitched Shapes Framelits
  • Accessories: Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine, Adhesive, Dimensionals, Scissors

Positively Appreciative

One of my favorite things about being a demonstrator is the great community I get to be a part of.  There are thousands of men and women out there, sharing what we love, and inspiring each other.  And sometimes you see an idea that is just the jumping off point you were looking for.

When I came across this project by Dena Rekow, I knew it was just what I needed for my Paper Pumpkin customer appreciation card.  I made a few changes to her design for my own purposes but firmly believe in giving credit where it is due so thank you Dena!

Here is how I did my project.

  • Cut a piece of Soft Sky to 5 x 7 1/2 and scored at 3 1/2.  This is our standard notecard size.
  • Add a strip of the Soft Sky washi tape to the upper 1/2 of the card.
  • Stamp the rows of +++ in Tranquil Tide above it and below it.  I chose three times but you can do whatever you'd like.
  • Punch out a Whipser White Starburst using our punch and stamp it with Thanks in Tranquil Tide.
  • Clean the stamp.
  • Ink it back up in Soft Sky and stamp just to the left of the first image.  It's easier to stamp light over dark versus dark over light if you really want them to line up well.
  • Then stamp a few of the small bursts around it in Soft Sky.
  • Attach to your project using adhesive.
  • Cut a 1/4 x 2 1/2 piece of Soft Sky (you'll have this scrap when you make your notecard!)
  • Stamp with the small saying in Tranquil Tide.
  • Cut the front at an angle and trim the end if needed.
  • Mount on the card using mini dimensionals!
  • Add a rhinestone to one of the bursts!

Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Soft Sky, Whisper White
  • Ink: Soft Sky & Tranquil Tide
  • Stamp Set: Positively Picturesque
  • Accessories: Starburst Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Soft Sky Washi Tape, Scissors, Mini Dimensionals, and Adhesive
