July 2016 Paper Pumpkin Samples - What a Gem

We are back from Disney and getting ready to start school again for the fall.  AND, in between, my baby girl is turning SIX!  Before I completely swamp myself with her My Little Pony party, I wanted to get my samples out there for this month's Paper Pumpkin kit.

It's always hard when you have a 3D kit but there are several ways to leverage a kit like this.  If you are needing party favor boxes, you probably loved this kit.  If you didn't, well, you may have found it to be a head scratcher.  I think the stamp set with this kit was one of the best yet.  It screams for you to raid your personal stash of bling - glitter paper, sequins, metallic thread, rhinestones, and don't forget your Wink of Stella pens!

Here is the project with instructions in the kit.

I will share a tip here - the twine in this kit is amazing and coordinates with Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo.  Thick Baker's Twine is typically three sets of strands woven together. If you pull one of the three main strings, you can get three sets of twine and it actually lays flatter on cards and looks smoother (IMO) on the tassels.

Here are my alternative ideas (with credits for posts that inspired me).  If you are one of my subscribers, you got a tip sheet for this kit plus instructions for how to make my projects.  Local subscribers can attend a free Paper Pumpkin workshop where you typically make one of my projects for free using your supplies and then can copy my other ideas.  For this kit, everyone who attended made several cards!  All for free!

The layout for this card was inspired by this card artist.

This is the card that leverages the bling of the glitter paper and Wink of Stella.  The circle gems get cut out with the 1/2 punch.

Notecards and Envelopes are a must-have for Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  That way if you end up with a 3D kit, you have card bases already ready to leverage the stamp set.  We sell them in White (131527) and Crumb Cake (133766) for $6 for 20!  A great option for quick notes of all kinds using supplies from your kits!

I forgot to order the Holly punch from the mini catalog so I couldn't finish these but you can see the picture that inspired them here!

But seeing that post about coloring them, led me to this - my favorite card of them all!  Just pick your favorite color in your stash and change out that color for mine.  I used Dapper Denim because I was shooting for a masculine birthday card idea and it's my go-to color right now for men's cards!

Paper Pumpkin is $19.95 plus tax and ships to your mailbox once a month.  It contains everything you need for your own creative escape.  Besides the instructions and pieces for the cards or project, it also contains ink and photopolymer stamps and usually the adhesive you need as well.  My subscribers will also get a project sheet with tips and additional ideas and instructions that they can make with the supplies in the kits and sometimes some supplemental supplies.  They also are invited to participate in a free Paper Pumpkin Playdate to make their kits using any of my additional supplies like framelits and punches!  It's a wonderful program and I'd love for you to try it out!  Sign up by the 10th of the month!
