The garage sale is finally over and thank you for all that turned out. As I approach my 100K in sales, I have to wonder how much of it was bought from me and if it was all in the garage. :) Seriously though, I appreciated the conversations with new customers and old ones while they looked through my retired supplies and enjoyed getting nostalgic about items I bought back in the day.
When I was pricing my items for Saturday, I got down to the very last box and found that it was my grandmother's old stamps. My grandma passed away two years ago tomorrow and it made me very teary. Not just because I miss her and wish she knew my kids like I knew her as a grandma, but because it was a reminder in the chaos of garage sale prep that stamping is more than just a hobby to me.
Every family has things that bind them together. In our family, this bond between women has always had to do with creativity. We all stamped. We all made ornaments. We all made scrapbooks. We all made something out of nothing and, in doing so, made memories together which were best of all.
I don't have a card to post today. I've spent the last three days working to reorganize my thoughts and my craft room so I can pick up scrapbooking my family and friends again. I hope to start having my Project Life samples posted soon as taking the time to craft and reflect on what matters is one of the most calming experiences I can do.

Men have Happy Days Too
Today's share is a simple card that would work for birthday, promotion, graduation, etc. for the men in your life (or the women that love these colors too!)
This card features the Perfectly Wrapped set. The background is a piece of 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 white stamped (and stamped off) with Dapper Denim. Then I stamped the polka dots from the set on a small strip of Smoky Slate. I stapled a scrap of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon to the top and then layered the Happy Day with our 1 3/4 and 2" Circle Punches and put up on a dimensional. The result: A quick and easy card to let someone know that you care about their special day!

Catalog CASEing
By now, the newest annual catalog has made it into your hands and you have a list a mile long. I get it - so do I. But one of the things that happens to me is that I order everything and then can't figure out how to create with it. I am overwhelmed by all the great options.
This year, I tried something new. Our catalog is full of beautiful ideas that are designed to showcase our quality products but also to inspire you with layouts and color combos. I needed samples ASAP for my catalog kickoff but didn't have a lot of pre-ordered supplies to work with. What could I do?
Take a moment and go to page 41 in the catalog. You see a Quick and Easy section on the top of the page tied to the One Big Meaning stamp set. There is a Thanks Kindly and A Little Thanks card that feature the Moroccan Designer Washi Tape (which I love but couldn't pre-order). I did pre-order the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape though....
That is how I landed at these two cards. They are the exact layouts and stamp sets from the catalog but using the supplies I had. They have a different look and feel based on the change in colors. Next time you need a little help to get your creativity motor going, jump to a page in the catalog and see if you can remake it. I guarantee that good creative things are in store for you!
For this first card, I highlighted the new In Color, Emerald Envy. I made the flower by punching two flowers from the cardstock and then peeling one flower apart. I crumpled that part and used a glue dot to hold the shape.

In Color Balloons
I didn't create today's card but it was the bonus project at the camp I taught for mom on Saturday. I love that it would work great for a BSU graduation but you could change out the balloons for any college or high school graduation. It would also work for a kindergarten graduation, as I was told by my own daughter who did not get her card yet after finishing up her first year in school!
I think my mom did a great job with this card. I love the little accents provided by the White Stampin' Chalk Marker and how she stamped the first balloon full strength and used the stamp again to create the third balloon that is lighter. The new Foam Adhesive Strips work great for shaker cards and for creating sturdy layers on cards. This one is fun to make!

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I had my first kickoff event featuring these cards and it was a hit. It was also my mom's birthday and her dear friend Cheryl made the most delicious cheesecake. A Dapper Birthday
I really try to get birthday cards out on time but those at the first of the month really throw me for a loop! I always think I have time and then they always end up being late. June is no exception but in my urgency to create the perfect card for a perfect friend, I ended up with this beauty. I love how manly it looks but also great the color combo is! I also love that since he's my good friend, he won't mind that it's not perfectly stamped - or maybe that's just the photo!

Groovy Stampers June Make-n-Takes
It's First Thursday and that means another Groovy Stampers meeting with my downline and sidelines. I love these meetings because we get a chance to exchange ideas and catch up as friends do!
I try to come up with make-n-takes that are repeatable for workshops and fit into promotions.
In this case, these two cards show how a cardmaker can use a 4 x 4 piece of DSP in two ways for a workshop. They also showcase the same stamp set since we all like more than one idea for each set we buy! Sorry for the crazy messy kitchen - we were busy making memories and cards with our messes!
The first has the DSP cut at an angle and applying to the Crumb Cake card. I showed a different version of this earlier this week but I wanted to show a few of the stamps in the set during the meeting.

In this case, these two cards show how a cardmaker can use a 4 x 4 piece of DSP in two ways for a workshop. They also showcase the same stamp set since we all like more than one idea for each set we buy! Sorry for the crazy messy kitchen - we were busy making memories and cards with our messes!
