Enjoying the Day

Yesterday was a great anniversary even if I didn't spend much of it with my husband.  I took the kids to their swim lessons and then we went to the park with some of our friends.  While I missed spending it with him, I truly enjoyed the day.

So, once home and crafting in my room with my girl, I realized I wanted to pull out the new Badges and Banners set and play with the "Enjoy the Day" stamp.  I've been writing about easy layouts using 4 x 4 pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) so I combined that challenge with this stamp set and landed on this card.  You cut a 4 x 4 piece of DSP and then cut 1" off and turn it over to mount across the first piece.  It's mounted on a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White and then onto a folded 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Night of Navy.

I love this Floral Boutique paper.  You can't tell in the catalog but it's all a hand-painted design and it's beautiful.  And that twine is so easy to work with and is just stunning.

Supplies:
  • Cardstock/DSP: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper
  • Ink: Night of Navy
  • Stamp Set: Badges and Banners
  • Accessories: Best Badge Punch, Night of Navy Solid Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Adhesive, and Scissors
Since my initial order was full of Designer Series papers, I wanted to try some other pieces with this same layout.  I loved the Fruit Stand DSP for its bold colors and am working hard to fall in love with the Peekaboo Peach (which is beautiful in this paper!)  For these two cards I just used the Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine and frayed the edges with my paper piercing tool!

Supplies:
  • Cardstock/DSP: Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper
  • Ink: Watermelon WonderStamp Set: Badges and Banners
  • Accessories: Best Badge Punch, Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Adhesive, and Scissors
This one uses the Peekaboo Peach cardstock and the Pear Pizzazz ink.  It is for a specific new friend that is constantly having to deploy Southern charm out into the world.  She has made a big difference in my life over the last year when she welcomed me into her book loving and reviewing group.  She has to deal with a lot of strange internet behavior to keep our little group running and I thought it was perfect to send her a card and little gift to say "Bless your heart."  :)  Thank you for all you do, Andrea!
