June's Paper Pumpkin & Broadway Bound

On Thursday, my Broadway Star Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in my mailbox and everyone left me alone so I could make the initial projects.  One look at the kit, color combo, and stamps and I went out and bought the bundle and the DSP to coordinate with it.  To me, the stamp set in the Paper Pumpkin kit, combined with the catalog set, would fill my need for a great congrats and birthday set.

And the color combo?  Wow - Lemon-Lime Twist, Basic Black, and Lovely Lipstick is absolutely stunning!

Now there was a little mishap with the instructions with these cards and the marquee piece in the sample doesn't match what was in the kit.  Don't be afraid -- the piece in the kit is actually the one you want and makes lining up those pearls super easy!

Since the video won't be up until Tuesday, June 19th, on YouTube, I thought I'd offer up some step by step tips here.

To make the first card, you will add the Lovely Lipstick rectangle to the card about 1 1/4" from the right side.  Then stamp the diamonds in Lovely Lipstick on the white banner and attach it about 1/2 from the right side.  Remember to let the ink dry - red toned inks tend to take a tiny bit longer to be absorbed into the paper.  Add two balloons to the left, slightly overlapping.  Then wrap the twine around your hand and add to the card using the glue dots.  Stamp the saying of your choice on the white banner and trim to size.  Place on the solid black marquee so you know where to place your hooray sticker!  Add the sticker and then add the black marquee to the card using dimensionals.

Add your sequins if you like - I used mine to cover a few mis-stamped diamonds!

For the second card, tie off about 18" of ribbon the left side and make a bow.  I had to pull out the gold thread since it wasn't cooperating.  Then add the green banner to the card.  Add the Hooray to the marquee banner with the white dots and stamp the saying below it (or use the white banner pieces - either will work).  Layer on the card using dimensionals.  Add the cake and candle below it using dimensionals as well.

You can add the pearls directly to the white dots on the marquee board - I did all of mine so you could see what they looked like.  It will mail better if you leave them off.

I will post more samples using this kit and then with the Broadway Bound bundle when it arrives next week.  If you want to purchase the products below, visit my Online store and use hostess code 6UNDPMF7 at checkout!
