Layout of the Month - January 2022

With the onset of a frigid winter, I wanted this month’s Layout of the Month to celebrate all that Winter has to offer while also bringing hope of warmth.  Thus, the theme was “warm”.  This translates perfectly into the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog because it’s full of spring and summer images and products that will bring warmth to your heart while you create and to others while receiving your creations!

We kicked off late this month with the holidays and then I sent out the wrong dimensions so I didn’t make this easy for anyone.  This also was a hard mystery stamp depending on the images chosen.  So…… I won’t have customer samples this time around but will use this layout to showcase a lot of our new and existing products, as well as special Sale-a-Bration offerings!

Supplies:

Stamps:

  • Stamp set with a sentiment and large and small stampable image.  Note: largest image should not be bigger than 2 1/2" and will be die cut or punched or cut out if you don't have a die/punch for it.

Cardstock:

  • Card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 (can be colored or neutral)
  • Coordinating Cardstock: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • White or Vanilla cardstock: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2, scrap big enough for your cut image

Designer Series Paper or Specialty Designer Paper:

  • DSP: Three pieces of coordinating DSP cut to 3 3/4 x 3/4 each

Inks:

  • 1 to 2 coordinating ink pads based on the stamp set chosen

Tools & Accessories:

  • Coordinating Die/Punch for an image or scissors
  • Dimensionals
  • Adhesive of Choice
  • Embellishment of Choice (if desired)

Instructions:

  1. Stamp an image from the upper right to lower left of your card front in a single color of ink.
  2. Attach the 2 ¾ x 3 ¾ piece of cardstock to your card using adhesive.
  3. Attach your three strips of DSP to the card front using adhesive.
  4. Stamp your focal image and cut out/punch out/die cut out.
  5. Lay on your 2 ½ x 3 ½ piece of Very Vanilla or Basic White cardstock without adhesive to determine where to stamp your sentiment.
  6. Stamp your sentiment and any other small stamps on the cardstock if desired.
  7. Attach to the card with dimensionals.
  8. Attach your focal image with dimensionals.
  9. Add embellishments if desired.

This layout was from Onstage 2020, if I remember correctly.  For my samples, I used the set that warmed my heart the most in the mini catalog, Nuts & Bolts (#157650, $21.00).

This cling mount set pairs well with the Sweet Talk 12 x 12 Designer Series paper (#157616, $11.50) and is a perfect combo for my Valentine’s this year.  I colored the robots with the Smoky Slate (#154904, $9.00) & Real Red Blends (#154899, $9.00) Combo Packs.

After this first sample, I turned the card horizontal and came up with this layouts using the same products.  I cut out a sucker from the DSP and added it to the robot's hand.  It's so stinking cute!!!

Finally, using the same measurements, I created this birthday card for my son's bestie.  This card was colored with the Smoky Slate blends as well.  I swapped out one piece of the DSP for a 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Granny Apple Green and cut off the excess that hung off the card.

I hope you enjoyed these cards.  Come visit again to see even more samples using current products and Paper Pumpkin kits!
