I slipped in two 6 x 4 pieces of Night of Navy cardstock that are stamped with the stars stamp from the kit so that there were covers for the photo. That helped the bow to really pop. I also inserted the big brads backwards into the book so that I could put part of the paper straw on the front and hold it in place with the brad legs. I thought it made a more unique binding than the brads did.
As for the bow, this was a lovely accident. I was trying to duplicate the bow from the You Tube video but I couldn't find it and I couldn't figure out how they cut it. So I took a pinwheel and cut a 1/2 inch strip from the upper and lower pinwheel. It just needs to be wide enough to cover the ends of the left and right pinwheel pieces when you fold them in for the bow. It looked something like this only less crude (I couldn't find my camera when I was making it!)
Then you fold the two corners of the left and right pinwheel in to make the sides of the bow. Then fold the upper strip down to cover up the edges where you adhered the pinwheel corners and cut into a V.
