Celebrating Callie

Three years ago on August 13th, I was not having the birthing experience that I dreamt about.  It was long and scary and traumatic.  But, at the end, I understood why people always tell you that it's worth it.  There was my beautiful husband holding my beautiful girl and I thought "Thank God she's okay.  Thank God I'm OK.  Oh God, now what do we do!?!"  We didn't know how to put in the car seat or how to dress her.  However, we knew instantly how to love her.

Three years.  It's been full of moments I never thought would be funny (like being pooped on) and moments that were hilarious "It's me, it's Callie!" or "Snow White kisses Dopey on his one-head (instead of forehead), and moments that were sad with fevers and scrapes.  But they have all been wonderful and her personality is wonderful!!!

Callie thoroughly loved her birthday.  She woke up to her presents from Nana and Papa, which included an iTunes gift card so she could finally "buy some apps".  She's a sponge to any marketing on Disney Junior.   While everyone else went for a round of golf, I took her to Toddler Time at the Sun River Library and listen to books being read and learn some new songs.  We also crafted.  She whispered that we had to be quiet so we didn't wake the library.  I don't think she translated my instructions about a library being a quiet place exactly like I intended.  :)

Then she went to the park and played on the slides and swings and picked rocks out of her shoes.  We came home, napped, and opened more presents.  We got her some princess outfits so that she could play dress up with her friends back in Boise.  There is a lot of glitter on them so we are all still finding glitter on our faces and on our clothes.

We then baked her cake and sang and enjoyed the evening as a family.  It was "a perfect day" according to her!

Since I haven't posted any samples this week, I thought I'd post Callie's birthday card and a tip.  Tag It is the stamp set for Ronald McDonald where $3 goes to the charity each time we sell one.  I think this set is super cute and love that we got it for Convention!
