School Treats 2017

So the Steampunk costumes have come and gone.  The Trolls costumes are as ready as they will be.  So now it's time for school parties.  My son was sick and missed his school party this morning but Callie was 100% fine and ready for me to come today.  Her treats were worked on last week but all the adhesive popped up so we had to remake them today.

She chose Laffy Taffy (which I hate) but that measured about 3 x 1 1/4.  So to make her treats, I cut a piece of 12 x 12 Pumpkin Pie into a 6 x 12 strip.  Then I scored it at 3, 3 1/4, and 5 1/2.  I turned and cut them into 6 pieces at 2 x 6.  Still with me?

Then I folded along the score lines.  I layered a 2 x 2 piece of Spooky Night paper on the front below the 1/2 score line.  Then I folded that top 1/2 over and stapled it on each side.  I covered that strip with a 2 x 1/2 piece of Spooky Night DSP.  Then I put the Laffy Taffy in so I knew how rounded the tops would be.  Finally, I stamped the saying from Spooky Cat in Archival Black and punched out with the 1" Circle punch - adhering it with a dimensional.

Start to finish, it took 45 minutes to design, cut, fold, and assemble these 24 treats. That's about the fastest anything has happened Halloween-wise in this house this season!
