FMS157 - A Scrappy Christmas

The last 24 hours have had me ignoring my parental responsibilities and cleaning up the craft cave to make room for our little crawler!  I brought in a garbage bag, shut my eyes, took a deep breath, and then started tossing anything that didn't immediately bring an idea to mind.

I was left with a lot of scraps from prepping my holiday workshop that I didn't toss out, only because it was 1am and I thought I should probably tuck in for a few hours before the baby woke up.  This morning, when I checked out the Freshly Made Sketches card layout from last week, I knew I had just the scraps left to play with or I'd have to toss them!

I challenged myself to making a card in 5 minutes and this is what I came up with.

I am in LOVE with my chalk marker at the moment.  For only $3.50, it gives so much dimension to a card.  The Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper strip, All is Calm DSP, and cardstock pieces are all leftover from prepping my holiday workshop.  I'll be posting all of them over the next few days.

The Merry Everything set may be designed to go with the Tag punch but it works great with our other punches too.  Just use a marker to color it if it has the tag outline or choose this one which doesn't have one at all.  I also used Good Greetings, the set you get for hosting a $300 workshop before October 31st.  I inked up the "To You" from the "Boo to you" stamp to make it work with this Merry sentiment.  It would look great with an embossing folder on the Lost Lagoon piece, but by the time I realized that, it was glued to the card already.

Supplies:
  • Cardstock/DSP: Pool Party, Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, All is Calm DSP
  • Ink: Lost Lagoon
  • Stamp Sets: Merry Everything, Good Greetings
  • Accessories: 2 1/2 Circle Punch, White Stampin Chalk Marker, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Adhesive, & Dimensionals

Have a craftastic day,
Stacy

  1. I never thought to add a hand-drawn line around a layer on a card before. I like the look of it, especially with the chalk marker. This is a fun and festive Christmas card with lots of sparkly bits! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
