Celebrating Creativity - Day 10

Have you heard about Paper Pumpkin?  It's a fantastic program to jump start your creativity and give you a little "me" time which all of us enjoy.  When you sign up for Paper Pumpkin, you will be charged $19.95 (plus tax) and will receive a kit in your mailbox with stamps, ink, and a project kit.  This month's kit, Happy Thoughts, had 8 cards, envelopes with liners, a 5 piece photopolymer stamp set, glue dots and dimensionals and twine, and a new In Color Stampin' Spot - Tip Top Taupe.  Cards have at least 6 cards and envelopes in the box and, as a subscriber, you can buy refill kits for each month at only $8.00 each!  Plus they are on trend and CUTE!

Each month, Stampin' Up! puts a video about the kit on YouTube.  View the June 2015 video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dxx1T3TBKM8

As for my samples, I find that they come naturally when working with Paper Pumpkin.  I sit down with my box, my favorite adhesive (personal preference) and my paper cutter.  I do the first projects just as the instructions state.   These are the two that were included with the kit.  Adorable and all the paper piecing is done by cute patterned stickers so you just have to view and place!

I did these right when the kit came but then had to put it away while I worked on Convention Swaps!  But last night, during the biggest thunder storm I can remember in a long while, I pulled it back out.  As the only "phobia" I have in life is thunder, I needed a BIG distraction.  Here is what I came up with - hope you enjoy!

For this sample, I layered a few of the stickers at the bottom of the card.  I popped the flower up using the dimensional included in the kit and stamped at the bottom.  Easy peasy as Callie would say!

For this card, I put the long skinny die cut on the bottom of the white cardstock included in the kit.  I cut it out and used the Triple Banner punch to make the banner ends.  Then I attached them to the card with the glue dots.  For the flower, I put the square die cut on the same white cardstock and cut it out leaving a small frame.  I layered it on the card using dimensionals.  I put one of the small die cuts in the center and then put the flower over it using dimensionals.  It added a bit of dimension with no effort - my favorite kind of creativity!  I also LOVE that this month's kit had such a versatile saying so we can use it for other "just because" cards!

For this project, I took the insert that went with the big banner card and folded it twice.  Then I used adhesive to seal it and make an envelope for a gift card.  On the front, I took one of the small banner pieces and layered the triangle die cuts on it.  It left about 1/2" on the bottom and I just cut it off.  I layered it on the card using dimensionals.  Then I stamped "It's your day" on the leftover white from the above cards and layered it on the envelope using dimensionals.

Finally, it was after midnight so I thought I'd finish up one last project!  In this case, I took the big banner card and cut off the banner end.  It made the card 5 1/2 x 3 3/4.  Then I took the envelope insert and cut it across the bottom first at 5 1/4.  Then I cut the side off.  The "It's Your Day" is stamped on the back of that side strip and cut off.  I layered the wood banners on the card with glue dots and used multi-purpose glue to add the strip of twine to the top.  Then dipped the biggest stars right in my ink spot and added them with glue dots.  The medium stars were layered on the remainder of the liner scrap and cut out.  Once I added the stamped saying, I cut down one of the Tip Top Taupe triangles and attached it to the saying.  Then I took a small piece of twine and frayed it behind that final star.  I think it turned out great!
